The Board of Estimate and Taxation oversees the spending by the city and authorizes an audit. An audit of the city is long overdue. As Mayor, I will have a seat on the BET and push for a complete city audit.

The city of Minneapolis tells business owners that they might have gotten a better deal if they had taken part in "years of planning meetings". Business owners across the city are told after the fact that they should have attended whole series of meetings regarding issues that affect them. When we go to the meetings as business owners we are ignored. Independent business owners work long hours and don't have the time to attend long series of meetings controlled by the city or self appointed individuals. Community input is essential but it should not take the place of the responsibility the Council Members and the Mayor have to represent all the people who live and work in the city.
